Welcome to Arikikapakapa, the home of Rotorua Golf, a unique geothermal golfing experience.
Arikikapakapa is a special place like no other, with a unique thermal course set in the heart of New Zealand’s premier visitor destination.
The 18-hole golf course, situated in North Island’s Bay of Plenty Region, provides a magnificent golfing experience, offering breath-taking scenery and an invigorating challenge full of variety. Active thermal areas make this stunning golf landscape truly unique.
Easy walking, the course has been voted among the top 25 in the country, but unforgettable sights such as steam rising off the nearby lake on a frosty morning make it one of a kind. Arikikapakapa means the gentle sound of plopping mud, as pleasurable a noise to our members as that of the ball plopping into the heart of the cup. It has some of the best greens in New Zealand.
One of the oldest golf clubs in the country, Arikikapakapa celebrated its centenary in 2006 and the walls of the beautiful clubhouse are adorned with golfing memorabilia and stories about some of the club’s past heroes. The Kānuka Café houses one of the finest collections of golf clubs in the Southern Hemisphere. The most ancient of these are two clubs dating back to 1836. The clubs were presented to Arikikapakapa by officials of St Andrews Golf Club in 1938.
Make your own history by enjoying golf in this beautiful part of the world. Our friendly members never tire of the thrill of tackling the Arikikapakapa golf links, while for visitors it often proves to be one of the highlights of their trip to the region.
We have a fully-equipped professional golf shop with club, trundler and electric cart hire. We are a premier destination for corporate golf days and the club is close to major hotels and motels in the city, and right next door to the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve and Te Puia.
Perhaps it’s as a result of the thermal nature of the area that the welcome offered at Rotorua is so warm. Come and see why one round here is never enough and will want you coming back for more.
"This place was stunning! You have geysers on one side of the road and the best view of the golf course on the other; a view like you have never seen before! The food was awesome; the burgers and wedges were unbelievable and so well worth the effort! The bar attendant was superb. Well worth a visit!"
