Every golf course is unique – there is always something to make it different from all others. But Arikikapakapa, the home of Rotorua Golf is special. After all, where else can you drive your ball through clouds of steam rising from a geothermal lake, or strike a putt to the accompaniment of boiling, plopping mud pool.
New members and visitors are always welcome at Arikikapakapa. Rotorua’s only geothermal golf course. New members are invited to participate fully in all club competitions and activities. Please do not hesitate to introduce yourself to the manager / office staff / golf shop staff, so that they can introduce you to other members.
Each player is required to have their own clubs. Sets are available to hire from our golf shop. Our course is a soft spike course.
Trundlers, Carts and Motorbikes
In the interest of course preservation please use the cart parks and refrain from going between the bunkers and greens.
Members
Course Etiquette
Please see our blog for more guidelines on golf course etiquette. Keep up with the players in front not in front of the players behind.
Hole in One
All members who are financial will receive a bar tab and a ball mounted trophy.
Handicaps
Members are required to return a card after each round of golf including matchplay rounds. (A round consists of 13 completed holes). The card should have the member’s name printed, club number (368), membership number, handicap index, course handicap, the date, the competition, and be properly scored, signed, handed in or entered, immediately after the completion of the round.
Practice
Practice on Greens
Practice to, or on greens, or from tees is prohibited.
Practice Fairway
Practice is permitted on the green only, while the course is in play. At all times please be considerate to players playing third and fourth holes.
Competition
Competition Conditions (Mens)
Men’s Handicaps – limited to 38 in all competitions. Unofficial scrambles every Wednesday and Sunday during the season.
Competition Conditions (Ladies)
Ladies Handicaps – limited to 44 in all club competitions. Unofficial scrambles every Sunday during the season.
